CANTO Disaster Risk Management Committee Supports CDEMA in Hurricane Irma Ravaged Countries

An urgent request has been forwarded to members for assistance to our neighbors who have been devastated by Hurricane Irma and are currently grappling with the onslaught of Jose. CANTO is putting together a team of available experts that CDEMA can access for the Regional Response Mechanism in support of relief and response operations.

The Secretariat in conjunction with the CANTO Disaster Risk Management Committee have asked unaffected members to join in this exercise by identifying resources from their respective companies who can assist the CDEMA in this grave time of need.  At the moment, there is a need for Communications Specialists and RNAT experts. To date Cable & Wireless Jamaica and Cable & Wireless Barbados have responded to the call by offering resources and volunteering  their services.
