PORT OF SPAIN  With the resignation of Director David Cox of Cable and Wireless Grenada, CANTO appoints a new Director, Mr. Charles Douglas in his stead. Charles is a seasoned Telecommunications Industry executive at Cable and Wireless, having served in executive roles in Treasury, Financial Services, Revenue Assurance, and Regulatory Finance. Currently, he is a Senior Manager for Government & Regulatory Affairs with responsibilities across the Caribbean. He has a Bachelor of Science honors degree from the University of the West Indies with majors in Accounting and Economics, as well as a Master of Science degree (with distinction) in Telecommunications Policy and Technology Management from the Mona School of Business.

He has worked as an adjunct lecturer at CARIMAC, University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, in the role of Course Director for its Legal and Regulatory Frameworks course and Interconnection in Telecommunications Networks course. He has served on several Advisory and Steering Committees positively impacting Public Policy across the Caribbean. A man of diverse interests, Charles published his first poetry book entitled “Look Within…Be Inspired” in 2022. He loves to paint, play chess and tennis, read, and travel. He is married and engages in bible educational work in his community.

Regarding his recent appointment to the CANTO Board of Directors, Charles said “Representing Cable & Wireless on the board is both a privilege and an opportunity to support CANTO’s good work of advancing the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) landscape. It is important to build on the contributions made by my predecessors to grow CANTO’s membership and the value that it delivers to its members and the Caribbean Region.”
