Vision

“One People, Connected through ICT!”

“The Caribbean is a connected and progressive, technology savvy Region which fully exploits the use of technology across all aspects of its activity. The Citizenry has integrated ICTs into their way of life and the Region is a leading creator of innovative social, cultural, academic, Government and business content.

Caribbean nationals are intimately aware and appreciative of the history, traditions, culture as well as the political and economic challenges and opportunities of their Caribbean neighbours. There is a rich and vibrant exchange of ideas and information across the range and spectrum of media forms. All citizens are able to participate in the emerging Regional Knowledge Based- Society and Economy, where each constituent nation is actively reaping the benefits of the deployment and exploitation of ICTs.”

“One People, Connected through ICT!”

Our Mission:

  1. To Support Caribbean Development
  • Support for Regional Integration (incl. CSME) by increase inter-regional collaboration toward the mainstreaming of “e” in government and commercial business.
  • Greater Caribbean Awareness by developing an infrastructure and culture that will allow Caribbean peoples to communicate, create and share content and ideas within and across islands more cheaply than before, using an increasingly diverse range of media, thus resulting in a greater Caribbean consciousness.
  • Development of a Regional Identity through the proliferation of Caribbean e-Content that develops and communicates a Regional identity that does not diminish the individual National identities but unites and identifies us all as uniquely Caribbean.

2. To Enhance and Enable National Economic Vitality

  • Economic Growth (Increasing GDP) by causing Regional businesses to incorporate greater use of ICT and e-Business/e-Commerce so as to increase their export and revenue generating capacity and thereby grow Regional GDP (new/additional revenue generation).
  • Greater Productivity (Increasing Economic Efficiency) by using ICTs as a tool to enable government, businesses and communities to work more efficiently, and share ideas more widely, reducing the cost of generating revenue.
  • Movement towards Knowledge Economies (Sustainability) by developing an ICT industry that provides opportunities for economic diversification, into high value, high skill activities – while allowing traditional industries to “move up the value chain” to produce higher value products sold directly to final consumers.
