[Port of Spain, 08 12 2020] Huawei Technologies (T&T) Limited fulfilled its promise to participate in the T&T Ministry of Education’s ADOPT-A-SCHOOL Programme, by distributing over a total of 100 Huawei T5 Tablets to five (5) schools across the island.

Starting with the Belmont Secondary School on Thursday 18th November 2020, Huawei went on to handover Tablets to the Las Cuevas Government Primary, the Russell Latapy Secondary in Morvant, the San Fernando Central Government School, and culminated at Diego Martin Government Primary on Wednesday 2nd December 2020.

Given that the country’s schools will continue with the model of e-learning in 2021 because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Huawei’s T&T CEO Mr. Jeff Jin especially underscored the Company’s commitment to assist in this regard, answering the call of the Ministry of Education’s ADOPT-A-SCHOOL drive. He said that he was thankful for the honour to respond to the Ministry’s efforts, in support of the children being well-equipped to pursue their online schooling. Equally appreciative were the recipients of the Tablets––from Members of Parliament, Constituency representatives who joined with Huawei to distribute the Tablets, to School Principals and receiving students.

Mr. Jin also said that this donation would form part of the Company’s efforts towards T&T’s digital development and gave the assurance of that “Huawei will continue to contribute through efforts ranging from training to technology, from collaborations to community partnerships”.
